With Christmas and Hanukkah over but the New Year in sight and the kids still on winter break, you're probably wondering what there is to do while you wait for school to start again. Why not try something new? Maybe start a new winter tradition or try something you'd never thought you would. Whatever it is, here's a look at what the lower Hudson Valley has to offer while the kids are home for winter break.
Walk through a winter wonderland
Westchester Winter Wonderland at Kensico Dam: 1 Bronx River Parkway Road, Valhalla. There's still time to see all the lights and attractions at the Kensico Dam Plaza. The Winter Wonderland continues through New Year's Eve when it opens Wednesday. Hours: 5-9 p.m. Dec. 26, 27, 30 and 31; 5-10 p.m. Dec. 28-29. Sunday, Dec. 30, is a superhero-themed character night where kids can meet their favorite superheroes. Tickets to Winter Wonderland 2018 are $20 per person. Children 3 and under are free.
