Education: Bachelor's degree in communications from UCLA, master's degree in American folk art from New York University 

Why do you want to serve? Since first elected, Ive fought to address the issues that matter most to our families. Ive authored legislation to fight against Lyme and other tick-borne illnesses, to provide access to life-saving breast-cancer screenings, and to protect our environment and natural resources. Ive advocated for measures to extend the property-tax cap, increase transparency in state government and provide local farms with support to succeed for generations to come. Through my diner stops, I keep in touch with my constituents in their communities and I know there is much more to do, including making health-care coverage affordable for everyone.
